hi, we used to get a lot of sales calls and silent calls etc, i then bought one of those bt call guardian phones, it think it was about £30,
when someone calls it asks the caller who they are and they are prompted to leave a message, the phone then rings and you can then listen to the message and receive the call or block the call.
these are effective because call centers use automated systems to make calls, you are only connected to an agent when you speak.
these automated systems cant leave messages. hence we get no more sales calls,

Someone called the other day asking to speak to a near neighbour,, i said wrong number mate,, so he then started on about the deal he was going to offer my neighbour and would i be interested a govt scheme cheap boiler replacement . click ..........................................................................................................
Ionce had a guy ring, I put phone down on him,, he rang back and told me off for being rude,, phone down again..... then he rang back a third time, I actually sympathised a this point and spoke to him for a few seconds before click.....................................................................................At work

I think you may well have a valid claim against the call centre chappie for not offering you sufficient empathy - he seemed not to be respecting your predicament and brushed it off far too lightly....... proper insensitive he were.
