Isolating Power Fold Mirrors

Hi Gang - and Merry Christmas to you all!!! Smile

My driver's wing mirror has stopped folding out on opening and when folding in makes a scarey crunchy noise Big Cry

I have diagnosed it to a broken plastic mechanism by researching on this wonderful forum. There is a fix involving the removal of door cards, trim and replacement of plastic pin. To be honest, I am not that fussed about the repair as it will take me ages, and I am not 100% confident. Embarassed
I have read that there is a mapping of the ECU that can be done, but was hoping not to visit a main dealer.
So, is there an isolation I can perform that will still give me the mirror movement without the "power folding when locking" bit??

Thanks - Happy New Year !! Thumbs Up

Fold it in manually and then fold it back out manually. That should isolate it but you will still be able to adjust it electronically. Thumbs Up Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Fold it in, then fold it toward the front FULLY, not just back to its usual position but beyond really push it forward, don't worry about the noise, then try it.

Might be fold them in electrically and then fold them out manually? I'm sure I read somewhere it's something like that. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto
