Stating the size and material may be helpful. 17" steel? 17", 18", 19" alloy etc? If alloy, any preferred style? Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

No matter what size or material rim you have, the overall size with the tyre is the same and will fit in the wheel well (unlike many cars that have a space saver). Some that may have, say, 18" silver sparkle wheels may want the same for a spare. Any wheel/rim combo will be okay but as you were asking for just the rim, I assumed you already had the tyre, hence my comment. Can't see the point in getting a standard spare wheel - use is very limited and if you do need it there is a speed restriction. If you get a correct size alloy spare you can swap it around with your other wheels, and if you do need to use it there is no speed restriction. The steel spare is not a space saver and takes up as much room as the alloy. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone

Well, took your advice and decided to purchase a proper rim instead of a standard spare wheel. You guys made good sense. Found a really good one from Ebay at €100 which is not much more expensive than a standard wheel and certainly worth the difference in price. I'll be installing a Grabber 245/70/R17 AT to match my existing set (and yes, I also have the suspension spacers installed too).

That's a good idea to install a new tyre - second hand wheels are pretty reliable, but you never know the history of a tyre. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone
