Enable global opening/closing of windows

Hi, I think, (but I may be wrong,) that the global open/close feature of windows is fully or partially disabled in certain markets. I live in Australia and I don't think it works here.

FL2 SD4 SE MY 13

The book says it can globally open and close, but it just doesn't seem to do anything no matter how long I hold the key fob button. I have tried the reset window method where you hold the window up/down beyond where it is closed or open.

Is there anything that can be done to enable it?

We can only open the windows as we are too stupid, having our kids & dogs hanging out the windows while globally closing them! To make up for this missing feature we drive over the kids when backing out of the driveway! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

I, for one, welcome the micro management of my life so that I am protected from my own stupidity....

Sure... my kids are all grown up, and sure they wouldn't be leaning out when I closed it anyway... but surely it's good that we are mollycoddled and overprotected.... otherwise we would have to live up to our own self image as rugged Aussies... and none of us could be that person these days.... Smile

Bummer... so it is true that we are disabled from the global close function... does anyone know how to beat that and re-enable it?

Stuartc will know, I think it is some behind the scene re-coding of the car if you have the right device to change it. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

In AU Global Close for Freelander is "disabled" for the reason mentioned above........but if your like me and don't like being told which direction when shopping at IKEA (rarely & only if absolutely necessary) then you can "enable" it in the CCF of the vehicle as I have.
I can now drop and close all windows at the press of the "lock" button on key fob.
If your in either NSW or WA then Cambo or I will be able to enable for you. MY15

Stuart that is most generous of you... I would like to have it enabled, but l live in the great state of Queensland... Smile

I do have a cheap ebay ELM327 OBD2 device that lets me read the on board diagnostics etc... and it does claim to be able to reset check engine etc.. I have the Fusion IPhone app and can enter commands to it...

I'm slightly nervous of doing the wrong thing with it and turning my beautiful car into a large black brick. Smile

I will admit to sarcasm in my earlier post above... Yeah... in Ikea I will walk in whatever direction takes my fancy.

It sticks in my craw when we are nannied and not allowed sensible functionality that other braver countries use daily....
