I hope you don't mind but I've posted this on the Landyzone forum . I started a "Stolen" thread years ago and it's been very successful. Some Land Rovers being returned to their owners as a direct result of being spotted by others who have read the threads and called the police.
Much wider coverage of viewers from the whole Land Rover community . The more people know about this theft, the more people can keep a look out for it.
Also if being broken for parts on internet auctions or classifieds, there's a chance - even if slim- that this wider community may spot something that could lead to recovery or conviction. It has happened.

Car reg RK57 WBT as you can see in the gallery photos,
It stands out with all the bits of chrome covers, fog lights,
Door handles, rear tailgate handle, matching Goodyear tyres,
At the rear it the centre console at the top it looks like there was a audio / aux
Socket but mine was missing & only a hole left, this was someone
Posing to be a buyer !

Assuming they contacted you by either a mobile phone or email the police could get a trace if they could be assed (yes Cheltenham that is just what I said seeing you are monitoring us all Whistle ) The mobile can be traced to a geographical location.

In 2013, GCHQ received considerable media attention when the former National Security Agency contractor Edward Snowden revealed that the agency was in the process of collecting all online and telephone data in the UK via the Temporal programme. Snowden's revelations began a spate of ongoing disclosures of global surveillance.

Yes it was by mobile, like a phone which I think is a free sim
and not required to register, but police have put forward to
try & trace, but been told that they are waiting for permission
to do this, so it's a waiting game!

Not that it helps now but for any members with later cars if you are going to get into your car for a test drive keep the key fob hidden from view. Yes they could take the car but it wont go any further once switched off.

Worth saying maybe - its got a tracker that is coming off once sold !

I hope it turns out OK in the end. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years
