The parts you require could well be Ford as I think Ford owned LR before BMW bought LR before Tata bought LR. My old 10 plate Freelander had both Ford and BMW parts in it. Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

FL2 is Ford or Tata, I would suspect most parts to be FOMOCO unless otherwise stated. Only FL that has BMW is FL1 my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

Yes, Late FL1s had a lot of BMW influence especially the excellent TD4.

My brake pads had FoMoCo stamped on them when I changed them, I've also seen a few other bits and pieces with that on too |

Ford used to own LR, Volvo, Aston Martin, as part of their SVO group. The LandRover plant in Speke used to be a Ford plant. So our Freelander 2 and the Volvo XC certainly had many " global" components from FoMoCo, even the platforms were Ford derivatives . In some respects the FL2 has a lot of the great traits of Ford engineering , but a more reserved LandRover approach to design, somewhat less " pikey" than a Blue Badged car would have been 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

The rear seat hinges can become distorted if the seats are folded flat and then the front seats are powered backwards fully - particularly if the rear headrests are left in place. The hinges can be bent back by using the cushion pad as a lever and made to relock in position. My wife did this on mine. Silver 2009 HSE |

Best thing Ford did for the FL2 was to specify the heated Windscreen Bill Life Honorary Member of Wallasey Motor Club. Licenced MSA Radio Operator for 35+ years. Rallying is the only sport. |

The best thing Ford did for the Freelander (and Land Rover in general) was to bring in Fords quality control - have you seen the build quality of Defenders from 2006? Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
