United Kingdom 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Tambora Flame
what is wrong with some people?

Some time over Saturday night some very kind people decided it was a good idea to squirt super glue all over the bonnet of our Freelander. We have spoken to some of our neighbours and 2 of them also had the same thing done to their cars. I have got some superglue remover but reading the care instructions and it is very dodgy on paint as it contains acetone but what ever happens the bonnet will need a repaint and as the colour is Tambora Flame and it is a Censored to match.
I know it is only a minor crime but we have found the empty bottle of glue so rang the police and they were not really interested and just gave us a crime number and told us the ring our insurance company.
On a slightly brighter note if I do have to get the bonnet repainted I can get my roof spoiler, mirror caps and 2011 tailgate handle done at the same time.

I wouldn't worry too much, if it is only squirted onto the bonnet it will fall off eventually, just wash with hot water, acetone will not harm cured modern paints and it is unlikely to have reached the colour only the lacquer finish. my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

About a year ago, some Censored gouged a spurting cock and bollocx on the bonnets of about a dozen cars down our street. Luckily ours were parked on the drive but plenty of people had to get their bonnets resprayed. Why the Censored do they do that? Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Sorry I disagree, acetone is evil stuff and will eat virtually any car paint you care to mention.
Keep it well away from your cars bodywork!
I've been using it in a professional capacity for years and I know firsthand the damage it can do.
Superglue will eventually wear off though and to be honest is best left alone, try flexing the panel slightly and it may well crack off in time.

Many years ago I used superglue in some of the manufacturing that I was involved in and any mistakes made with the glue we would use hot water to break the glue down so it could be removed. MY13 HSE LUX Aintree Green

We had a guy near us who felt the need to go around every front door he could get access to and inject super glue into all the locks and it cost people 1000s to get the locks changed. Some has insurance, others had to pay.

I just dont get it at all.
