brake bleed - change/replace brake fluid/oil

Just want to share brake bleeding for my LR2

1. Below are the tools

so we have gloves, 2 litre LR2 brake fluid (it's dot 4), 2 stand jack, bottle jack, water bottle with hose, wrench 11mm, tissue/small towel (these for clean up the brake fluid - it's corrosive) and yes small kitchen tools to suck the oil from reservoar

2. Lift your car and hold with stand jack, I started with rear passenger behind the driver first, then another rear one
and then

3. Suck the brake oil from reservoir (get ready for any leakage during sucking process, clean it immediately with tissue/towel)

4. put the new oil

5. connect the hose of the bottle on rear nipple of brake caliper and loosen it with wrench 11mm

6. push the brake pedal to make the brake fluid goes out, monitor and ensure the reservoar is not left empty!

7. do it for all tyre, from rear to front

8. compare old versus new (old is dark oil)

9. good luck

So to those that have never attempted to bleed a car before I reckon we can dispose of:

One litre of the fluid (that's all I needed)
Stands (just turn front wheels)
Jack (unless your helper is called that)
Kitchen Suckie thing

and for later models you need a different size spanner front and rear but I recommend good socket to open nipples before using any open ended spanners.

All can be done on floor and once tank is low just add the first of the clean fluid, no need to suck out. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years
