Started today. Switch the ignition off and the heater blower continues running at maximum speed. Tried

Hi Bob, thanks for that, but it seems to be more about the PTC recall on earlier FL2's. Mine is 2011 model. The

not heard that one before, maybe a stuck relay or corrupt file in the CCF, either way needs fixing unless you want to disconnect the battery each time Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Hi Nick, sorry to be so dumb, but what is CCF? Where would I find the relay?

With the car running can you adjust the fan speed, if not and it's running on on full then it could be an issue with the fan resistor

CCF = Car Configaration File (the computer bit)

In that case then I would suspect the resistor is at fault

Thanks for all the replies. I have just googled FL2 heater resistor, and can see where it is
situated. It looks 'reachable' and apparently you can buy them to fit yourself, around £50. I assume I

I had this exact problem and it was indeed the fan motor resistor. I pulled the fuse (I think it was 27 or 2 in the fuse box near the battery while I waited for the part. You'll have to remove the glove box but it's easily a diy fix if you don't mind laying on your back in the footwell. Interestingly, the auto functions didn't work at first so I used it on manual while I waited about 2 weeks for an appointment to have it calibrated. After about a week it started working normally so I think it can "learn" through usage without going on the garages machine.

Another bit of useful information, HOPEFULLY!. If you have air conditioning, make sure the
pollen filter is replaced every year. Failure to do so will block the air flow which causes the resistor to get
