It's as written before, if not on here then elsewhere, JLR have definitely turned their back on the dirty welly brigade and are now looking towards the green welly lot. Frankly one can see why, there is plenty of available stuff in the market for those who need a real workhorse, most of it more reliable than JLR product these days, sadly, so makes sense to go for a market where they can squeeze more money per unit. Unfortunately these arsepirational (sp?) markets are fickle and long term customer loyalty not there in such good measure. |

I can see the Skoda Kodiaq taking lots of sales away from LR, I read spec for spec the Discovery Sport is around £9,000 more expensive. You could even buy a Skoda Citigo with what you save for the city commute... |

That's what annoys me about cars today .. they are all banging on about this surround camera, all car manufacturers buy this camera kit from the same supplier then charge us a fortune for it , the skoda comes with it LR charge about £1500 and Volvo charge £2k as its bundled with other stuff .. it's a con Do it now ! Your a long time dead !! |

The cheapest & most effective safety feature on a car is plenty of glass real estate, both transparent & reflective! Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

This is something I would consider, no doubt pricey though. Will hit showrooms the same time as the new Disco.

Not been on here for a while and its interesting to note that many other FL2 (& some Ewok) owners are still hanglng onto their trusty vehicles and enjoying them, in the hope that JLR might eventually produce a car that has the right features & price for us all to readily purchase. Just like the smaller chunkier DS version I saw in silhouette form some while back, when JLR were showing the entire range they were planning.

Having had to contend in the last few days with snow and a few flooded roads plus soggy muddy fields I'm happy to report that the Subaru Outback got on with the job nicely. I'm on summer tyres, and as I'm planning to keep the car 4 or 5 years I might put it on winter rubber. It has exactly the same ground clearance as the Freelander and in conditions that a sane person would drive in I'm more than happy to be in it . My Defender owning days where I would risk life and limb because I was sure the 90 would deliver are well and truly behind me. Since early retirement I've learned the big difference between having to go out and wanting to go out in bad weather. 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

Had a test drive in a Toyota Land Cruiser this week ... comes with a 5 year warranty and fixed servicing costs way under Land Rover main dealer prices. Intermediate service £240, Comprehensive service £390, and Full plus service with replacement of long service interval items £490.

My son has worked as a geologist in various African countries and swears by LandCruisers and how bullet proof they seem to be in harsh conditions. He set up an operation in Botswana for the company and immediately ordered five new ones (the salesman thought he was joking). However they are a bit big for most people and for UK parking spaces so now that he has come home for a couple of years he "downsized" to a VW Toureg. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Even though Toyota sell very few Land Cruisers in the U.K, from an export point of view I've only just realised that LR (with the recent demise of the Discovery and Defender), for the first time since 1954, no longer build anything to compete directly with it. |

From Toyota's point of view their best worldwide TV advertisers are the United Nations, who buy loads of white LandCruisers, and the Taliban/ISIS who have the pickup version which presumably comes with mounting points for a machine gun. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
