Wiggy, Don't forget the 27mm flexi head ratchet to undo the oil filter cap from beneath. You can get one quite cheaply on ebay as the quality is not too important. Dave

Yup, just got that.
I got to admit I haven't serviced a car for years.. always took it to stealers and indies to do. However I love my FL2, it's never let me down and drives me and our dogs with ease.. so I guess I'll give servicing a go.. it can't be that hard.. and a 1/3 of garage price.

Hi again Wiggy. Just to reassure you if you have not carried out any servicing for a while, it is easy with the ratchet spanner. Just be careful not to over tighten the sump plug as the thread is quite small compared to some cars and can strip. I think the pump is a good idea to purge the fuel system however i did it without by topping up the new filter with fuel and it did start after about 6 cycles of the start button.
If you get inspired I think at your mileage the Haldex should be serviced but that is a bit harder. Bell engineering sell a kit or will do the job for you. Plenty of guidance on here. I have just done the final drive and the transfer box oil changes as well using a 60cl syringe and 3mm pvc pipe off ebay which is easy.

Enjoy the money saving

Dave

Don't forget that the 6 yr 90k service includes changing brake hoses. Not that I have ever seen signs of perishing on cars of that age. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
5 x FL2 4 manual + 1 auto
