United Kingdom 2011 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Bali Blue

Replaced mine yesterday. Varta F21 AGM from Tayna batteries for Stop/Start MY11. Original battery lasted 5.5 years so can't complain. Found out they're bl**dy heavy though so got my neighbour who's a rather large agricultural contractor with hands like spades to do the lifting. Finished before Storm Angus came sweeping through. 11 GS Bali Blue
07 GS FL2. Usually muddy. Gone
Numerous LRs since 1963

Any TD4 replacement battery issues ?

I'm thinking my battery is showing signs of old age as its slow on cold starts now.
Does replacing the original Varta AGM battery on my 2010 diesel TD4 stop start model pose any unforeseen problems? I've seen one manufacturer suggest it needs to be electronically installed into the cars control system .. plus I assume the car alarm doesn't go off. ?? Confused

Just found this update on nother post

Here is the complete text. The module will self-reset but may take a little time:
If a new battery is fitted to the vehicle, the BMS (battery monitoring system) module will require recalibrating to register the greater charge holding capacity of the battery, this is performed using Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment. If diagnostic equipment is not available the BMS module will recalibrate automatically however, this could take 48 hours to complete depending on vehicle usage. The Stop/Start system will not function correctly until the BMS module is recalibrated.

So.. is this a problem or not if not using a dealer to reset the control ? Maybe this is why my stop/start doesn't function very often, which is not a problem as I always turned it off anyway, but might indicate the state of the battery ?

When I replaced my AGM battery I just had to reset the clock and windows. The alarm didn't go off. Maybe with the GS model your phone might need pairing again? My stop start system started working about 5 minutes after changing the battery. Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.
