front and rear washers

Hi Guys wonder if anybody has an answer for this one. just purchased a FL2 HSE really pleased with it so far. However i have a weird niggle that i would like to sort out. the front and rear washers seem to be working in reverse ie pull the stick back to position 2 and the rear wiper sweeps but the front washerrs activate. likewise push the button on the end of the stalk the rear washer activates and the front wipers sweep. anybody have an answer ?

Does this problem affect the headlight wash? (When the headlights are on, the HL washers squirt every fifth time the front screen washer is activated unless the washer fluid level is low).

I think that the headlamp washer algorithm is more complex than that, it also takes account of when they were last squirted. Not very useful if you come out of a muddy field and need the headlamps washed again. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Someone before you may have removed the front bumper for whatever reason and gotten the pipes mixed up. The front and rear washers are one pump and controlled by changing direction of the pump electrically, the headlamps have their own hi pressure pump.

Hi Guys
Sorry for the delay in answering your suggestions been in bed with flu for 2 weeks but have had a look this morning this is what i found.
removed wheel arch lining found 2 pumps the pump nearest the engine side of the water container is the pump for the headlight washers the pump nearest the wheel is the front and rear washers swopped the pipes over on that pump and all is working ok.
Thanks for your guidance on this subject. by the way it looks like it is a new pump.

Thanks

Terry

Or perhaps it was nothing more than a failed pump...
