Engine noise...

Hi,
it is some days that I realized that with the engine properly in temperature, I have a kind flicker noise but rather dark, coming from the engine (surely from the car front area ...) it seems as if there was some vibrating plastic cover... but I checked and everything seems ok!

The strange thing is that it only does between 900 and 1100 rpm in any gear. After disappears and the engine runs smooth and with the right push.
I know it is probably due to the "under-torque effort" to which the engine has to push, but before did not do it!

Before I take FL to see in some workshop, can you tell me if you happen this?
To prevent a problem to the flywheel (first accused on my part ...) symptoms that should give me?

Many thanks to those who can help me ... I'm a little disheartened!

It maybe the alternator pulley, they have a one way clutch in them and they do start to make an odd noise when they start to fail.

I would suggest lifting the bonnet and rev the engine to get a better idea of the noise area.  MY2014 SD4 XS

Hi, here I am with a little update ...

Yesterday I went to Land Rover, where the chief mechanic rode with me beside the car for 50-100 meters and so it was enough to understand right away what it was !!!

Response: alternator pulley that is KO ...

He told me he is not serious and I can continue to run, but he remembers that the LR sells ALL the alternator pulley and not just ... so it will be a nice bloodletting of € ...

He explained that the pulley serves as a freewheeling within a certain number of RpM of the engine, but then goes into "drive" and does not vibrate more ... but I did not understand if it vibrates or is going to flip the belt ...

Good thing there is the guarantee of the seller ... or at least I hope !!!
