FL2 rear differential fault

MY2013 has thrown up Transmission fault.
The code it is giving is " RDCM Rear Differential P1889-14 oil pressure pump performance-General electrical failure- circuit short to ground or open".

Anyone experienced this?.Could it be an cable to a connector or such like and not an actual pump failure.
The vehicle still drives normally, but I cant select any of the special traction functions.
Much appreciated Thanks

Happened to me as well a few years ago, the "transmission fault - traction reduced" message related to the Haldex unit in my case (not the diff itself) and would appear on and off. The fix was a pump within the Haldex unit, if I remember correctly. Was fixed in spring 2013, no issues since.

If it's not the pump itself but instead an electrical connection of some sort, I guess trial and error will eventually work to find out.

The vehicle kept driving normally for me as well before I fixed it, but I believe it was only running in 2WD. I think the vehicle electronics figure out there is an issue with the Haldex and only distribute power to the front. A quick acceleration on some wet grass might answer that! Wink
