Option you wished you'd gone for, & 1 you can't live wit

As the subject says really.. To help me with my decisions, which option do you wish you had gone for but didn't, and which of your options you couldn't live without! i'm a tomtom user, but like the idea of built in sat nav!

Cheers all!

Mike

Hi Mike74

I was fortunate in that i loaded my SE up to HSE spec (dealer would not price match a broker on HSE, but would an SE with extras Question ) So for me, it has to be the leather pack with power seats etc..., also the full size spare is a reasonable deal (I went for the HSE wheels) Thumbs Up
One extra that i wanted, but glad i didn't go for at the time of purchase was the sports kits at around £1400 or so... i was able to pick up a brand new kit from a dealer of ebay and retro fit myself for £500.

Wish i had gone for Xenon's though! - been meaning to look at the options on this although i understand fitting Landrover Xenon's is not possible (if it is, it's a bl**dy expensive way to go about getting them)... i know CG has replaced the standard H7's with the super bright Osrmas or something and seems fairly happy so i might try that. 2008 SE, HSE wheels, Black Premium Leather, Privacy Glass, Sports Kit, Side Steps, various LED upgrades and Clear side indicators.

Memory seat would be great for me as Mrs G is a short arse and I'm not..leather pack on XS/SE £1140 = full leather seats (memory for driver),leather steering wheel..etc etc even thought much of the leather is fake Evil or Very Mad

Built in sat nav has its limitations ... no speed camera warnings etc etc. Some on here report it to be erratic in its route finding but arn't all sat navs a bit troublesome? At work

Being a HSE owner I have all the toys but am currently driving round in a S spec courtesy car whilst mine is at the LR doctors. I can now appreciate all of those things that are missing from my own FL2. My SATNAV screen is now replaced by a storage 'hole' so now when i want to look at the clock instead of glancing at the screen i have to stick my head in the gearstick to squint to the rubbish radio display. It also means when I get lost my FL2 wont find the way out! I now have to take extra care when parking coz i have no front or rear parking sensors. My arse gets cold because I dont have heated seats anymore! The heated front screen doesnt work because this courtesy car doesnt have it!! I cant turn the volume up on the radio on the steering wheel coz there are no controls mounted on the steering wheel! Im reversing out of my drive but have to take extra care because my wing mirrors dont dip down for me, im constantly fiddling with the temperature and blower controls because i dont have climate control, oh and i keep falling off my seat because im trying to rest my left elbow on a armrest that isnt there!! My advice - get the highest spec model you can afford coz believe me you be glad of all of the little luxuries!! Now - 2017 BMW X3 M Sport Carbon Black
Gone - 2014 BMW X3 M Sport Space Grey, faultless!
Gone - 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Bali Blue with xenons
Gone - 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Rimini Red with bodykit

Sorry to rub it in Shar but the sunroofs on the FL2's to date on both of mine have been leak free............even with the local Polski Valet aiming his 300psi jet wash at the seals!!!!!!! The option I am missing but still chasing is the converter to allow me to watch my freeview TV on the satnav screen. It has been just a few weeks away for about 26 weeks now so getting a bit fed up Whistle Whistle Whistle Otherwise the car is just perfect Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

What spec is needed to get the mirrors to alter when reversing? Is it possible to get them to do it on a GS? I had a play is a RRS and that did it and thought how useful that would be.

Id say XS with leather pack is the lowest level for that as it comes with memory mirrors, At work

Was lucky and got a good deal on a HSE with almost every extra including a NON-leaking sunroof and (half plastic) leather seating Shocked There is no option I would not have chosen with this package Thumbs Up
For winter use the heated front screen is an excellent option Thumbs Up The automatic rear view mirror is also very useful Thumbs Up (if it is an option?) and for me I couldn’t live with any car without a sunroof (or moonroof as its called here) Thumbs Up

The option that I would have chosen on top of what I got if I had not topped my budget, would have been the automatic gearbox, but at the time it was over £6000 extra (Norwegian blood prices) Big Cry Sad Big Cry 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.
Stornoway Grey with Ebony Black Pleather, Clear Indicators, Body Side Mouldings etc.
