At the moment I'm totally dissapointed with my FL2 had loads of other makes of vehicles in the last 25 years this is my first car that has cost me silly money to fix.

thats why I bought a code reader costs about £20 and you can look up the codes on google to see what they mean

Someone said now you need to get a quote to see how much the quote will cost to do the job

Haldex ecu

hi all, my freelander has started to display various error messages, special programs not available - transmission fault etc.

The fault codes are:
U0136-00
U0136-87

Both are related to communication with the dif control module.

I have checked the fuse that controls the haldex and that is ok, I have checked for power at the plug that plugs into the haldex again there is power present.

I am going to remove the haldex at the weekend and clean it out, then get the pump and the ecu checked.

If the haldex pump and ecu are us I may be able to get my ecu fixed but if it can't be fixed

Does anyone know, can only a main dealer reprogram a haldex ecu ( a new part) or can an independent do this job.

Check the wiring to the Haldex first. It has been known for the wiring to chafe against the rear subframe, and loose comms

hi mikey, i will have a good look at the wiring at the weekend, i replaced the fuse with a 5am one but that hasnt blown,

Check wiring as stated. Also pump failure can damage the ecu or cause it give spurious error messages. I can supply an ECU, or complete haldex for a fraction of the cost, give me a call if you want some advice. www.bellengineering.co.uk
