2010 Freelander 2 TD4_e GS Manual Stornoway Grey
Instrument warning light and Engine System Fault message

Hi All

Newbie help needed !!

Just had this pop up whist driving normally ? Does not seem to be anything wrong with performance. I've had to use the car to commute the last few days, stuck in slow moving traffic, on the clutch a lot in 1st and auto S/S far more than usual.

Had it before and did some research and took the electrical plugs out of clip and seem to sort, but can't remember !

Any insights gratefully received

Bryan

Get the codes read - no point guessing what it might be - the car is full of computerised electronics No Longer the owner of a 2013MY Fuji White GS

me too

I had this rather vague "engine system fault"message appear about a week after major service including cam-belt change. Dealer advised not urgent if vehicle driving ok, but diagnostics needed to interpret actual cause. After two weeks of message display it disappeared.

Few weeks on it re-appeared. I ignored it at first then had delay getting car booked in. Fault message disappeared again. That was 6 weeks ago now. So no further action taken thus far.

Dealer said sensors often trigger this message after cam-belt change; not reset properly or something!? Life is not a dress rehearsal!
