Four or Five Seats?

Right, after owning my Freelander 2 for three weeks, the logbook has just arrived in the post.

To my immediate surprise, it lists the vehicle as having only FOUR seats including the drivers.

If this is a standard thing, then why is there a rear centre-seat equipped with a full seatbelt (and no armrest!)??

Does anybody know the reasoning behind this? Surely it can't be a mistake on the logbook. "We're in danger, we've got to get out."
"What are you talking about?"
"I've been called a ponce."

You need to get the V5C corrected. Can cause lots of woe with insurance, etc. Everyone can spread it - Anyone can catch it. Stay home - the life you save can be your own!

So hold on- this is an error then?!

I'm going to be putting a personalised plate on my Freelander soon- would this be the time to correct the error as I've got to send the V5 back then, yes? "We're in danger, we've got to get out."

do you have the plate on retention? did mine on line and they send a new V5 but tell you to destroy the old one. don't even change the mot certificate anymore, so will make it awkward to change the seat at the same time.
checked my V5 and it is down as a 5 seat, you do have a middle seat belt don't you? so must be a five seat. Common sense isn't very common.

I'm waiting for the certificate of entitlement to arrive in the post- early days yet.

How would I change the number of seats if they tell me to destroy the old V5C?

I fear a rather long drawn-out process involving weeks of waiting for the DVLA's archaic postal system... "We're in danger, we've got to get out."

I would do two separate items, either change the number first and when the new V5 arrives send it back with the seat changes or vice versa. Common sense isn't very common.

Suggest do the seats first in case it turns out there is something dodgey about vehicle. Everyone can spread it - Anyone can catch it. Stay home - the life you save can be your own!

There's nothing dodgy about the vehicle to my knowledge.

Full service history, clean inside and out, MOT history is good- trivial failings/advisories for headlamps and a tyre or two.

Certificate of entitlement turned up today- not bad considering I applied for the plate on Sunday!
V5C took almost 3 weeks! "We're in danger, we've got to get out."

Update:

The new plates are on, so I'm guessing it's now another 2-3 week wait for the updated V5C. "We're in danger, we've got to get out."
