The blanking cap you seek is is no more than the screw ring from a fitting with a disc of plastic and a sealing ring inside. Sealing ring could be a bead of mastic or if its still on sale "Plumbers' Mate". Everyone can spread it - Anyone can catch it. Stay home - the life you save can be your own! |

It's available as the screw ring with a disc and seal. No idea what it is called though, and that's the problem with e-Bay and the likes - one needs a text string to search.

No luck bubbles, I bought one but it doesn't work as the thread part is the wrong way around. I have a spare at least should I ever need one and work out what it will fit on. |

Have a look at the Plumb Centre website - there are a number of blanking plugs for McAlpine products, but much quicker would be to take it to a decent plumbers merchant they will sort you out with what you need. |

dont make it complex fitting for 40mm will fit 40mm screw or push, if there is no room then cut pipe back.
