Hi I changed the pipes on my dpf sensor yesterday and whilst the cills and other body were 100% perfect the front subframe and the steering rack were very rusty

my car has only had one previous owner and has done 52 k

i think its about £25 for the waxoyl pump and about 25 for a 2.5litre tin of waxoyl

So does anyone apply waxoyl or similar to the underside of their car, is it safe to put it on suspension parts, obviously i will cover the brake discs and pads or maybe remove them

Bilt Hamber do a range of products which would be a better option , I've used them myself and was very impressed .

I have always used dinitrol. just finished my 110 (4 cans of spray can type) and its really easy to apply. I suspect there is a lot more metal on the defender than a FL2

I am thinking of doing my 60 plate FL2 also before the winter.

hi, is it safe to spray dinitrol 4941 onto suspension parts, i will mask any suspension joints, do you think it will stick to the factory applied underbody coating, and will it let the body breath or will it trap moisture.

I looks like a similar product to waxoyl.

I've used Waxoyl for years, but it may be old hat nowadays ?

Dinitrol seems to be the preferred option now ?

I think they are much the same, comparing the two spray cans dinitrol just seems easier to apply than waxoyl. no clogging from the can. I would be interested in any reply you get. They also do rust prevention for cavity area's, I have used this on whats left of the doors on my 110 (lol) and it seems to flow easily into the box sections.

I am worried about these products locking in corrosion, that is one concern as wella s damage to suspension rubbers and similar items
