Looking online, I'd say yes. If I bought one and it didn't, I'd certainly want my money back. Seems ok though - free updates too. Remember though, if some faults are not repaired, you won't be able to clear them permanently and if you want to just clear codes, there are probably other generic ones on the market that can be used on all makes of cars.

Hi, I bought one last year and yes it does clear the codes. It also reads all the various modules I.e. gearbox, handed, abs etc. Since changing the car from a 2007 model to a 2014 model I can say that it also works on the later model.

Thanks for that guys. Have an intermittent problem with an actuator sticking. It's a pain having to pay £42 everytime to get out of limp. Then it will be fine for months |

Cool. That's what I needed to know. I know there is an intermittent fault and it's a pain paying for reset all the time. Think I have fixed prob but it always seems to happen when I'm away with caravan and end up in limp mode. If this will reset that will save a great deal of hassle👍 |

I have one of these and a nanocom, while you cant change things about like you can witht the nanocom, it works just as well, maybe not as easy to navigate through though.

Is the Hawkeye , albeit a more expensive box, a better tool for the job? I ask as I'm looking to buy something and the icarsoft came into my options. Only dead fish go with the flow |

Personally I wouldn't bother with the hawkeye, I would either get something cheap like the icarsoft or the nanocom or iid which gives you the full option of things to play with. |

Thanks, I'm all for advice, but I would appreciate some reasoning behind your reply so I can make an educated choice?

Personally I think the icarsoft is good because of the price (shop around and can be had well under £100). But it is very limiting to what you can do with it. The nannocom or iid route lets you do vertically anything you want to your car for a very reasonable price, and they both keep developing there products and have a good back up service if anything goes wrong. The hawkeye, and this is from personal experience as I had one years ago, is almost as much to but as the other 2, but don't have the back up they do, or anywhere near the abilities of the nanocom or iid. I've not looked for a long time but I don't think you can do much more with the hawkeye than you can with the iid.

All I want to do is be able to read something on a diagnostic, without having to look up fault codes on the web, know exactly where to look to solve a problem, then be able to clear any fault codes (if possible) should I need to.

That's exactly what the icarsoft will do for you.

I've had the hawkeye for years, and I must admit when it first came out for the FL2 the functions were limited - still a lot better than a generic OBD reader, but functions such as calibrating the steering rotary coupler were missing. Over the years it has got much better.
