Saw the trimmer yesterday, he advised that he has done about 20 in the past year all with the same issue which means he know how to remove and replace the seat pad.

He can get the whole job done in about three hours, so I just have to book some time off work and he will get it done for me, he was able to do a colour match from material he has in stock.

If anyone in the Bedford area has the same problem and would like the trimmers details please PM me and I will pass on.

Would it not be cheaper if you took the seat out?

As said previously, you do not need to take the seat out, just the squab (seat base). 10MY (Sept 09) TD4 HSE Auto in Stornoway Grey (Now Gone)

I am getting mine sorted next Friday, but I believe that he just removes the pad not the whole seat.

The cover then gets stripped off and the damaged panel unstitched and removed and replaced - he carries a stock of matching colour materials so it should match up.

I will try to get some photos loaded up.

A tear has developed in the side bolster of my leather drivers seat through repeated use of the seat. A local upholsterer has said that he can fit a new leather side panel to the seat to match the existing but I'd have to take the seat out of the car for him to do so. I have the HSE model with electric adjustable seats that are also heated so I'm not sure how easy that would be to do?

Any advice would be appreciated or alternatively has anyone had any experience in repairing a year in a leather seat?

I have exactly the same problem. Have you an idea of cost to replace the side piece. Is he just going to try to get a good match or can he do any shade? He does know it is vinyl and not leather?

Yes he has the correct matching colour and materials - as I advised earlier he told me that he has done about 20 in the past year.

Be good to see pics when he has finished. Whereabouts is he?

Just outside Bedford, he does a lot of high end work there were two TVRs getting a complete makeover when I called in two weeks ago.

Not sure if I can put a link to his website on here but if you PM me I will send you the link.
