Hi, i did a search but nothing came up,
i purchased my FL2 with 2 previous owners, mileage and MOT's check out ok on the Vosa website, however, is there anyway to find out if my FL2 has had a reconditioned engine installed without me knowing?
any replies are truly appreciated

look on the V5 registration certificate - about mid way down it shows Engine number - mine starts DZ59**********DT

Don't see the worry, these engines are capable of 200k - mines done 178k, not a hint of smoke, passes the MOT on emissions with comments like "one of the cleanest diesels" every year.

If someone has replaced it, it possibly ingested swirl flaps / water or the camshaft snapped, all of which if it were mine I would be happy that it was swapped.. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her

Hi Wizard, I'm new to the club and am wondering why you would need to know weather the engine has been changed in a car you have just bought, surly if the car is running ok when you bought it, why be worrying yourself weather it's original or not, I'm only asking out of curiousaty.

@dreamlands, well i just bought the car, and, with all second hand cars i immediately change the timing belt and pump, the mech informed me that in his professional opinion he thinks the the engine may have been changed, and now something else has occurred, so my thoughts behind the question is, has the dealer knowingly or not, sold me a vehicle with warranted mileage that maybe inaccurate, therefore would i have grounds to return the vehicle if the dealer wants nothing to do with the fault that has occurred,
