Starting issues

Ive nosed online and no one seems to have a definitive answer for this.

2010 XS fine until this morning when it wouldnt start. Battery seemed find but it was clicking and not even wanting to try to turn over.

No dash lights/warnings part from a exclamation mark with a line around it

Garage came, jumped it, thought it was battery but it wasnt, its back and been starting ok since but Im concerned.

Any ideas?

thanks in advance.

Fitting the extra earth strap seems to cure a lot of electric type problems about £15 from eBay and about 20 minutes to put it on.

Earth strap is an obvious one to do

No! Many fireworks that way. Negative earth.

Click but no cranking could indicate a problem with the starter motor or solenoid.

I had this same problem, it would come and go and when it wouldn't start I use to give the starter motor a tap, which would get it to start. Got my auto electrician mate who got a Service kit for the starter motor and that sorted it. I think it's the brushes that stick from the carbon build up. MY13 HSE LUX Aintree Green

I wouldn't let it slide if I were you, it's not a 'hiccup' and might let you down in a remote place with no phone signal.

so cheesed off, every time it goes in under warranty it doesnt do it, so they wont change the starter or use the repair kit, fed up already.
