Got home today from a family holiday in Scotland this last week. We stayed in St Andrews and due to needing the extra luggage capacity, I drove my dads Audi A4 Avant. I took the liberty of fitting my dashcam into his car just in case and we captured the usual iffy moments... (motorbikes galore on that road where the Skoda overtook - bad place to do it)

Yes, being on holiday kept me calmer than usual. I think its a lack of forward thinking by the RRS in the first clip. He just thought he would go for it on the straight stretch but underestimated how long it would take to get past. He also overtook into a right turn box and of course there could have been cars pulling out of the side turning. He was certainly closer to me than the camera makes it look.

In Scotland if you get a clear stretch you go for it, the RRS was OK as the lines weren't continuous, the average speed on Scottish single carriage ways is about 45mph if you are lucky, the chances of anyone appearing out of the bend at high speed is extremely rare, basically driving without the man with the red flag is a risk up here, normally he would be hit first that's why the requirement was dropped , not like England where traffic speed was the reason my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis

Lane hoggers are a pain but in terms of safety, the van picked a bad place to undertake and the Focus really didn't need to break the sound barrier to get past!
