Radio

Hi, i have the latest samsung smart phone which connects seamlessly via bluetooth to the 2007 radio, i can use almost every function including steering wheel controls with no problems, however it will not read the phone book no matter what i try... therefore my question is, can i upgrade the 2007 radio ( radio only, pull out single din) to a newer version of the LR radio which would be compatible with the phone? i have checked their website so i'm really looking to just upgrade the radio, any advice would be truly appreciated.
Thank you

You need to provide more information of your vehicle and what you want to achieve!
Firstly all pre MY13 Freelanders came with a "double din" alpine system of 3 levels from memory. Which do you have?
There is lots of info regarding the hifi system via the "search" facility on here. MY15

Module

Hi I have a 2007 MY and when I first got it, it wouldn't even recognise my Samsung S5 so I changed the bluetooth module in the boot for a newer one from eBay and everything works.
It's a straight swap no need for any coding and very easy to do.
The modules are all dated on the sticker I found a 2010 version which did the trick. 2007 hse auto

Hi do a search on here for bluetooth+module and there a is a fair number of posts regarding this one in particular shows you exactly where the module is and how to remove/replace it.
I searched on eBay for freelander 2 bluetooth module, it take a few weeks to find the right one as I said check the date on the label on the module as there is a lot of similar age ones that will just give you the same issue. 2007 hse auto

The system behind the dash is all one unit and is called the "Integrated Audio Module".
No need to buy a new module you just need to update the current module to latest software version. LR dealer will be able to do this for you. MY15

+1 for upgrading the Bluetooth module in the boot.

Phone book wouldn't sync between my 2007 HSE and my Samsung Galaxy S6 - just got jibberish when I tried to sync.

Simple swap out of the module in the boot for one from a scrapped 2011 car gave me perfect sync of the phonebook plus phone signal strength on the radio display.
