Just woke from a Amber weather warning for Rain, whilst away at Windermere Caravan and Camping Club Site

When i say just woke, the rain was that heavy at 2am the Heath and Safety Exec would have made me wear ear defenders if i was in the work place

Never had anything like it whilst away in the caravan, least the Argile have been brought away and i can use the Paramo wet gear today whilst walking the dog to the brewery at Staveley for a jar or two, or three

Just finished assembling 2 x storage shelves, desks (with drawers )

just managed to fit the desktops in the car, we had to chop one of the kids heads off, I think it will grow back? enjoying the peace until it does  At work

Was a touch damp in Eskdale last weekend too. The trusty Vango did it's job though....

just returned from the wettest week in the lakes i can remember

the mud in the awning was worst i have had in all the years camping and caravanning, glastonbury has less mud

breathable awning floor just squelched the water and mud up through it, the tarp i bought just had muddy water on top come morning after a downpour or walking on it near the edge

the juggle of taking it down was a nightmare, keeping it out of the mud, started at 8:30 and set off home at 12:30 and i only had to empty waters, disconnect elect, satellite, and strap bikes on, the rest was cleaning, and storing dirty

I am not into roughing it I all way go to sites with hard standings, although one year in Castleton in Derbyshire it rained that hard it water running under the van and through the awning like a river but soon dried out the next day when the sun came out.
Only once did grass at New Quay in Wales and the rains came and the grass just turned to mud it was everywhere so did not stay the full term as the wife was throwing wabblers at the state of the vans interior (Carpeted). Freelander 2 TD4 GS 2011 Manual Satorini Black (Current)

My wife is going through a 'back to her childhood' period of her life. So this weekend just gone she had me camping. Went to Robin Hoods Bay. One of my favourite places but only when it is dry. Rather wet on Saturday to say the least!!!

if you walk from robin hoods south past the youth hostel is there still an old house, at the top of some steps? we used to use it a s a crash pad as the owners , my mates parents didnt tend to it anymore as it was due to fall into the sea anytime soon

There's something at Boggle Hole i.e. the youth centre but not sure of any other building right next to the cliffs

further south than boggle, probably gone now, fond memories of racing back along the beach from pub before tide came in or having another pint and taking the more difficult cliff top path.
the water pump on the property died so we mended it with a new rubber seal cut from the side of a pair of welly boots.
