I should've written a few words about each place. The ruins are the Adelong Falls Gold Mill Ruins built around 1850s. Some Scottish guys build a Reefer Battery to crush rock containing gold. this way they extracted around 9000 kg of gold. Two more shots of the ruins:

Mate, we must have nearly bumped into each other, I was down there too. Those big churches look like Bendigo? I ended up over in the high country chasing some snow, did the Mansfield, Woods Point, Walhalla road. Very scenic and the rivers were running wild, I had to turn around and find another route a few times as it wasn't safe to cross. I thought you were going west? |

I was, but the rain spooked me. I was planning a lot of outback dirt roads and didn't fancy getting stranded there for a week or two. Did you catch the snow blizzard? I was on the Murry that night. The wind was unbelievable, but my awning with the flimsy sidewall held well. I am now thinking to make three sturdier zipping sidewalls for quick attaching to wherever the windy side is. Very useful. 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 SE |

No I was too late for that cold snap. I didn't even need a jumper for most of my trip...winter in Australia lol . All the snow was melting making the rivers too high to cross. Still, I had a good trip. Walhalla is the prettiest spot I've been to in a while. A tonne of excellent tracks there for the summer.

Hey Mike, where is the cot, not comfortable any more? And what is the bag on the roof rack? 2011 Freelander 2 SD4 SE |

The cot has worn out from too much use, the insect screens have holes in them and there are a few rips. Also it wasn't very waterproof as it was that light nylon stuff, plus it nearly got blown over on Fraser a few times. I use the swag now because the whole bedding rolls up with it, it is made of tougher canvas that is very waterproof and I can use it on the ground or on a stretcher. That is the stretcher on the roof rack, I leave it up there unless the ground is rocky, muddy or too uneven. |
