Timing Belt Change

My car a 2012 Freelander 2 has done 65000 miles and no knowledge of a timing chain renewal, should I get one now?

Not aware its a chain.

Surf the site plenty of comments, mine will be done before the LR limit is reached. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

At 65000 miles it probably hasn't been done. Don't quote me on this but I think the time schedule for timing belt change is 150000. MY13 HSE LUX Aintree Green

Mine will be done well before that sort of mileage. By then the belt may have survived but the water pump will be shot I suspect. A few reports of belt premature failure so not worth the risk. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

Have confirmed from my garage that the belt should be changed at 125000 or 10 years
Will change nearer the 100000 mark if I am still around

Officially, it's 150k miles or 10 years, whatever comes first

Mine will be done at 135k miles, that's long enough Thumbs Up
