Has anyone experience of sleeping in FL2 with back seats folded down to form a bed
I am starting to plan a trip next year crossing from Ullapol to Stornaway and travelling down the Outer Hebrides to Barra and the ferry to Oban and plan to find isolated places to wild camp

I have slept in many "Tin Tents" over the years. Usually for the odd night I just get into the passenger seat and lower the seat back as far as it goes. It avoids drinking and driving but plod I guess could say you are drunk in charge but I have always wondered how that works with a motorhome ?

Yep. Slept in the back of my cars for 2 years working 4 on/4 off shifts.

You need some washing line to use as a curtain line, a couple of black quilt sets to feed onto the line which you then tie to the grab handles and feed all round above the top. window line. Voila! That's your all round curtains/privacy sorted.
Then get some foam blocks from dunelm mill, 3 large pieces, and cut to shape for the back with the seats folded. Voila! Mattress sorted

This was discussed last year on the D2BC forum and one of the issues that could arise is the possible build up of carbon dioxides in the cabin, Caravans and camper vans tend to have ventilation low down to allow dispersal of any gases.

Farting helps keep you warm in the winter terms months lol.

Although I always slept with the windows and/or boot open slightly unless it was chucking down with rain

How can my perfectly reasonable post on anyone slept in back of a FL2 go from the sublime to the ridicouls and end up talking about farting

I slept in the back of my first FL2, no curtains and no matress, just the seats folded sort of flat and a sleeping bag for comfort. The 10 skins full of beer helped too, what didn't was dropping the keys down the back of the front seats with rears folded and the alarm going off at 3am and me deadlocked inside the car unable to see, find the keys or escape with angry campers looking in the the window baying for blood

So design in a key pocket that is easy accessible and keeps them safe

I really don't think you need to worry about CO2 levels in a car, they have vents in the boot, near the rear windows and are not exactly air tight, but a bit of ventilation will help keep condensation down from you breathing, but again so will CO2 poisoning  Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Alarm shouldn't need to go off - you can just lock the doors from inside the car. Otherwise, I think one push of the key button will set the outside alarm but not the inside (could be wrong there, but I remember reading it was designed like that for locking pets in the car, with window open of course). If you have a sunroof, just opening it on tilt should give you ventilation, but it might get a bit cool out in the western isles. I've slept in many of my cars but not the FR2s - should be no problem if you lie diagonally but not much space for kit! Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone

I have slept in the back seat of the FL1 - but you need to be happy to sleep curled up.
