Removed transfer box this morning and found o/ring split, the sleeve is also very worn so new one ordered with all new seals, was a easy job to get out and glad I have done it by the look of the sleeve. 85000 miles by the way!

Yes steve! and I was going to leave the leek, it's only a drip and after all it is a Land Rover, glad I did it now, easy job 2hrs with a brew. It will make others wonder what theirs is like. I may do a write up about doing the job. |

Here's the bad news, those splines must connect with another set of splines, and they will be as worn.
My coupling was worn 160,000 miles, but the transfer box was slightly worse, so I lost drive. Ended up fitting a recon transfer box (Bell Engineering), sleeve and RH drive shaft. Took me a lot longer than 2 hours, more like eight the first time and four the second. Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her Replaced by Ewok what a mistake - now a happy Disco Sport owner |
