Just got back from a week away with caravan, towed no problems at all but got a oil leak from where transfer box bolts to gearbox, it's gear oil thats leaking out, is there a seal in the gearbox that can be changed and if so has anybody changed it?

Yes

The transfer box has a hollow shaft which has seals at each end - RH drive shaft goes strait through to diff, in main gearbox casing.

wouldn't know about changing the seals as mine had stripped the splines on the hollow shaft so a recon transfer box was required.

Removed transfer box this morning and found o/ring split, the sleeve is also very worn so new one ordered with all new seals, was a easy job to get out and glad I have done it by the look of the sleeve. 85000 miles by the way!

Yes steve! and I was going to leave the leek, it's only a drip and after all it is a Land Rover, glad I did it now, easy job 2hrs with a brew. It will make others wonder what theirs is like. I may do a write up about doing the job.

Here's the bad news, those splines must connect with another set of splines, and they will be as worn.
