The wife and I toured the Highlands in 2014 and it seemed then, that every other motor on the road was a LR2 and like you say I'm also seeing a lot more Freelander 1s plus older disco's about now, but that could be because of the holiday season!

Forgot to add to the original post. Disco 4s are popular here also, more popular than that FL2 I'd say. Run out model Landmarks are very popular and the graphite ain't fair behind it. MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

1 in my street, but a few usual suspects appear every so often, I think 3 D4s & a RR live in the street. If I walk a km to the shops usually see a handful of D4s, a RR or 2, 1 Evoque & 1 or 2 Defenders. But one day did see 5 Freelanders. The D4s appear to used for school runs & to tackle shopping centre speed bumps! Haven't seen too many DS yet on a regular basis, but people are buying them. There's a huge number of very early FL1 where I am - amazing they are still running. Loads of FL2s as well. Quite a rural location which probably explains it. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues

LR have completely taken over from Volvo here, back in the 80's the 245 reigned supreme backed up by a few 700 series estates. The Disco started to become the car of choice in the 90's though the FL1 never really took off until it was superseded by the FL2 The FFRR is very popular but obviously over a greater age spread ( most on private plates that used to be on Volvo's)

Being a rural area there are lots of Land Rovers around here (but relatively few Range Rovers). FL2 is the most popular model, with the Discovery next. Sad to see that most farms and utilities are now running pickups in place of Defenders and there are far fewer of those around that there were a few years ago. A few DSs are starting to appear, but still massively outnumbered by FL2s. Quite a few FL1s still around too. |

Loads here, I see 4-5 every day, also seeing a fair few of the new (spew) discovery about. it took a lot of effort for me to downsize from my old disco to the Freelander still missing a bit of the wallowing giant which im seeing less of.

Dragging to and from York every day I'm seeing a healthy number of FL2s but still outnumbered by FL1s I think. Just a few D2s hanging on but plenty of D3/D4 and RRSs.

I had County 90 defenders for 20 years, they were astonishing off road or in deep snow, so for about 5% of the time i owned them . At the sake of being a heretic, they are a woeful vehicle for every day use and actually doing anything with except towing. I was looking at Isuzu pickups the other day while i was waiting to speak to the parts man at the Subaru / Isuzu garage. The quality and usefulness of those 4x4 king cabs is amazing. LR lost the plot on that one many years ago. I was particularly impressed with one that had a carpeted load bed and and electric lid on it. The interior was full leather, and it had every bit of kit you would find on a high end chelsea tractor. No wonder the USA is in love with them . There are loads of FL2s around Calderdale, I reckon a lot of them are second cars that will do the job when winter comes. It will be interesting to see what happens with LR next year when the RFL premium is applied for the first 5 years of a cars life on vehicles costing over £40k, which is just around the entry point for a nicely specced up DS. 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership 2016 Subaru Outback SE 2.0 diesel SE Premium Lineartronic Sold 2024 after 8 years and 80k miles . For years I was the only LR owner on the road where I live. (30 houses). Over the last 2 years a few more have appeared in driveways. Now we have 2 FFRR, 2 Ewoks, 1 Disco Sport and one Overfinch Range Rover.

We have a fair showing here: 4 FL2's (2 in my road); a couple of Discos; also 2 evokes; an RRS; a DS has just arrived. The only private Defender got nicked out of his drive About 50% have private plates, including mine.

Both my Defenders were nicked off the drive, and when they could not get the automatic gates open next door, they started parting out thei neighbour's 90 van with torque guns ! That's partly why we ended up with a Freelander 2, not a Pikey magnet. My wife would have another Defender tomorrow, me hell will freeze over first 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership
