Rubbish FM Reception

My car (2008 SE) seems to have developed really poor FM radio reception. A search on here has said the antenna is connected to the rear window demister, is that correct? Anyway, I took the cover off behind the upper stop light and saw a few press stud type connectors leading from the circuit imprinted in the rear glass but nothing was connected to them. Is something supposed to be connected to them? If not, how is the radio connected to the antenna?

Not quite. The FM antenna is printed onto the off-side (driver's side in UK and OZ) rear side window (with the near-side window having the DAB antenna, where fitted). There's an antenna amplifier mounted centrally just above the window.

On your MY the arial is the rear demister and there should be two amplifiers in the tailgate that the press stud wires should be connected to. MY15

Thanks for the replies. I wonder where the wires have gone? You'd think they would be somewhere inside the frame near the top tail light?
I was wondering if they came off when they fixed a globe on the top tail light last service....
