wiper noise

When my wipers are on the faster settings, the left hand one makes a knocking (tapping) noise when it hits the bottom of the windscreen - Does anyone else have this ?

On the slower settings, it's all quiet.

Having spent 4 hours on the road yesterday in heavy rain, the tap tap tap from my passenger side wiper is driving me mad - the plastic end of the wiper is hitting the plastic cover which runs along the bottom of the windscreen. Apart from cutting the wiper blade down to make it shorter, I'm not sure what else can be done.

Anyone else with the same problem - it's only apparant when the faster wiper speeds are used!

Have a look at your wiper blades and the arms and check that the the wipers blades are the correct ones and fitted the correct way round. Early RRSports suffered a similar problem and it was traced to one of the wiper blades being put on the incorrect way round on the production line. Turning the knocking blade round or swapping it for the other one cured the problem! How can carbon have a footprint, it has no feet?

Although rain is a bit rare in Greece these days, whenever I used mine I did not notice any such noise. Hence I suggest that your dealer fixes this boiledgnat and do not cut any parts yet.

Thanks for the advice - I've had a look and they only go in one way, plus the knocking blade is the shorter of the two. Looks like a quick trip to the dealer.

If the wiper blade is travelling too low down the pin the blade is mounted on is usually toothed so maybe the arm just needs repositioning by one tooth to get it to a better angle, so long as it does not them catch the other blade!!!
