Yes, I agree, with such damage I would have not let them go before the police arrived.

Glad you're all safe Thumbs Up

It's a GS 2011 (facelift) 60 plate with almost full LR history and just hit 60k. Any info would be great as a guide as to what to expect.

For what it's worth my son traded in his 60 plate GS with 78k miles in January. Full LR history and got £9k 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
5 x FL2 4 manual + 1 auto
Now Discovery Sport P250 MHEV SE

With respect to the insurance I have been in a similar position, I had an incident in the Rolls-Royce (which was written off) about 4 years ago and when I called my insurance company to assist with recovery I was told that I was not insured. Even though I had the document in front of me, they refused to organise or pay for a recovery vehicle for me and would not entertain a claim, the other party insurance co. reported me for no insurance as well. After 5 days we found out the problem was an administrative exercise by the insurance company, they paid out but I got no apology for the 5 days of worry. I was looking at a written off car, a written off Transit and a police 'producer' all before Christmas.

It turns out that many of the smaller insurance companies, especially ones that deal in specialist classic or performance policies (such as Adrian Flux) broker deals between underwriters for blocks of cars on their books and juggle them about regularly. this had happened to my car and it had not been transferred properly. Neil Hampson

Glad you're all OK,your right your kids are amazing, also what a testament for the motor I'm impressed with it after what's happened and I know I'm doing the right thing changing from a D2 they just collapse when they roll.
Hope the insurance gets sorted soon.

Hi All,

Thanks for the kind comments!

Pretty much all sorted now, Insurance have paid out, new car is on the driveway!

I went away from the Freelander 2 as along with these kids, I also have a new one at 6 months old with all associated ancillaries.. pram. etc so decided to go for a Disco4!

Picked it up last night, although its back at the dealer today as when I drove off I noticed a chip/ small crack in the windscreen in zone A.. so gone back for repair or replacement.

The Mrs has an Evoque in the meantime and said they can all barely fit inside.. Rolling with laughter

oh well.. thanks again all,

Im putting a few bits up for sale shortly

I'll be back when ive replaced my Freelander1 in a few months! Rolling with laughter Thumbs Up

@Browny90. I'm glad nobody got injured. But imagine the Audi had NOT slowed down and hit you full speed while you were inverted..; you would not have walked away unharmed.... I live in a national forest in the Netherlands. Lots of people have been killed trying to avoid hitting a wild boar - not in LR's though - ; they ended up straight into a tree... Shocked
The police here advice NOT to brake or steer away ; the cars are build for this type of collision. Not when inverted... Embarassed

PS. The police do advise to do 50km's at night ; the boar/deer can still get away. Legal speed is 80Km's 24/7... [ Freelander 2 TD4e MY10 Sport manual. SVR badge engineered ] SOLD
