Hi, Does anybody know if you can run the freelander 2 without the propshaft on?, can it damage the haldex unit?. or any other problems?

United Kingdom

The front transfer box coupling on mine failed - effectively no drive to the propshaft.
Ran for over a month (2-3k miles) with no issues.

Fuel economy was better, but hard acceleration from a standing start would spin a wheel.

No faults logged, Haldex was none the wiser - even when the wheels were spinning.

Mine is a 2008 auto, so Haldex 3, Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
Replaced by Ewok what a mistake - now a happy Disco Sport owner
