Newbie - Advice needed

Hi All,

Picked up my 2011 FL2 yesterday. I want to mount my bike racks on it and get using it as soon as i can but I'm not totally sure what I need to do this.

I know I'll need roof rails but then I'll need two bars running perpendicular to mount the bike racks on. I've looked around but getting confused as to whether you can buy these as one kit or need to buy individually? Also doesn't the rails come with one cross bar at the rear?

Looking for help and possibly best place to buy from Thumbs Up

The 1 bar that comes with the roof rails is a cross brace. The way it is fastened to brace the rails would be completely unsuitable to take any load. The roof cross bars are designed and clamped to the rails to take a different type of load.

The rails and cross brace come as one kit. But there are 2 types, whether you have a sunroof or not.

The cross bars come as a pair.

I ordered them from the UK & installed the rails myself. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

Or just get some Thule cross bars and just put them on when you need to carry the bikes.

You will then need some bike carriers to mount onto the cross bars. FL2 HSE Auto Galway Green
