I lived in Norwich for 4 years-great city and a lovely area. Aside from the normal tourist spots (Cley, Holt, Blakeney etc) there are loads of lovely villages. We moved area and spent a couple of holidays prior to the move checking out potential places and talking to the locals. I would highly recommend the latter because each village has it's own identity, with some being more welcoming to outsiders than others. All in all, a good choice for retirement. You have a good budget but as others have said it is very popular for holiday/second homes so the prices have risen accordingly. |

Have a look at the Waveney Area. Lowestoft, Beccles, Bungay. and some lovely villages as well. |
