Having bought my car as an ex-demonstrator from Marshalls and had it serviced according to schedule by an LR dealer, I'm a bit surprised that no-one has contacted me to try to sell me an extended warranty at the end of three years. Are LR missing a trick here? Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone

Unable to order a new DS, so gave up. Now have a Volvo S90 Recharge.

My extended warranty ran out and I was reminded to renew by the warranty people. I happened to be in the dealers the next day for a service and mentioned it thinking that I might be able to negotiate a discount but they said they don't get involved with extended warranty unless selling an "approved " vehicle. It's a bit surprising though that you haven't been contacted by anyone. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

I had to ask to get my extended warranty! like you Pastmaster, the car had been serviced by the dealership.
What has got my backup tho, is a recent phone call from the dealership, which did not ask for me by name but asked me to call them back 'regarding my vehicle'.
I have been a loyal customer with Land Rover, and this particular dealership for years, I would have appreciated a more personalised approach to what is clearly a 'mass' sales push.  One Discovery, gone

As my Freelander approached 3 I had to keep calling the dealer to get the warranty extended. If I'd missed the 3 year mark by one day then the cost of the warranty would have gone up by £50. Nobody seemed interested.

Interesting as I did no intend to take an extended warranty in March this year having seen the cost and received a number of letters increased 3 times over by the AA pushing their recovery (do they know something ?)  FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

One of my sons has just changed his Porsche 911 and was offered an AA warranty which he took as it looked very good value compared with an official Porsche extended warranty. You can elect various levels of cover which give you a maximum payout per incident according to what you pay. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

My dealer never mentioned extended warranty, as I am taking the car to Cyprus for free and a free return in 4/5 years I have decided it probably isn't worthwhile unless someone knows different  my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis
