Waves car wash

Anyone got any experience of these? Better, worse or equal to typical local hand car wash?

I clean my own car these days and have all the stuff in the shed but it must be 6 weeks without a wash now because washing it would have been pointless with the relentless rain. I was contemplating letting these guys wash it (just this once) and then I was going to polish and wax it myself when I got in (2 miles away).

I know I can do a better job but getting all the gear ready and washing it myself is a pain in the gluteus maximus when you are feeling a bit knackered.

Before I decided to to leave the world of work Very Happy I had company cars for the majority of my working life. I neither had the time or the inclantion to wash something I didn't own.

I have used every form of car wash available. The Tecsco car park one, the waterless wash in Sainsbury, the line of blokes in closed down petrol stations, and the drive through options.

Every car I ever sent back had scratches from washing, and I suspect ( but can't prove) that the hand washes were more problematic than the the drive throughs

I think you know already that if you don't do it yourself, or pay more for an independant valet to wash it ( there used to be a lad who came to the works car park , was good , but charged £15 ) that there is a likely hood that you will not get a good wash.

i took my wifes car to the tesco hand car wash, they were quite good, opening doors washing the grime, drying it and then they brought out the silcone blades and randomly wiping water off it, then drying down the car, right down to the door sills and back up again, a very good way to capture missed grit and drag it around the car Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I used to use a hand wash place near where I work, and for £5 the works was excellent.I couldn't be a***d doing it at home for that money.

Borders Agency spoiled it by raiding it and walking off with most of the staff in handcuffs, Updated- Waiting for a Scotland v England 6 Nations home win. 24th Feb 2018

The possibility of having no staff on minimum wage (or below) in my local car wash was the only 'con' when making my list of pro's and cons when deciding whether to leave the EU. Whistle Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Sorry for the late reply CG, but today's take on unemployment was fly fishing on the Wharfe for 6 hours. Tomorrow I might put the new front discs on the FL2. I love not working. Of course you won't understand that as farming is a vocation Laughing
There is no better feeling in the world aftert 40 years of corporate Censored than being aimless and following whatever whim comes along , the hardest decision of the day was take the Loop 5 weight or the Hardy # 4 , and then deciding on the wisdom of chest deep wading after 2 cans of Pimms at lunchtime .

One day soon I might even decide to retire, but at the moment I just enjoy telling people that I am work-shy ,

Martyn I hope you didnt hold up any farm traffic as you ambled along your steady way to the river.

Is there any fish in the Wharfe? I was christened just next to the wharf, I think there is something wrong with that water, look what it did to me At work

Yes there are fish in the Wharfe CG, from ilkley right throught to Kilnsey it is a very good Brown Trout fishery with a decent head of Greyling up to Kettlewell. I'm a member at Bolton Abbey and tend to fish there, (although I do know of a secret beck 10 miles higher up the dale where the agricultural run off has created a super fit species of 5 kilo 2 headed green trout

Now I have an aimless existence I love farmers in big tractors slowing traffic, the bigger the better, in fact I'm thinking of swapping the Freelander for a John Deere 9560 and joining in the fun Rolling with laughter 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership
