Hi guys

Hoping someone can shed some light on this please. I had a full service done by LR last xmas....

Car's only just reached 40,000 KMS (24,854 miles) and done less than 5,000kms since this last service in December. I now have the Oil Service warning appearing on my dash. The LR garage have confirmed it should not need another oil change so soon unless there are signs of leakage which would obviously need attention. They want to book me in to clear this fault, but i know this will cost $$ when all that needs doing really (if this is the same as all my other cars) is clearing of this fault by following s simple set of actions.

Anyone know if i can reset this myself from the cockpit and if that will be perfectly ok?

I had the same problem.Apparently it can be done on pre 2010 cars. My garage tried, but because it was
I think, 10% beyond a certain service mileage,it needs to be done at LR, so expensive. 2013 Dynamic Santorini black

sometimes towing an Elldis AVANTE 574.

so there is no way of doing this manually? On my previous car (not an LR) all i had to do was press the gas a few times then turn the ignition at a particular point while i stepped on the gas and the alarm cleared.

Surely there has to be a way to do this manually....

My car is a Freelander 2, SD4, HSE 2011, 150BHP, auto.

2011 freelander were fitted with DPF filters and had two service reminders your dealer has simply reset one service reminder, the oil service visit dealer can only be cleared by pluging into a diagnostic machine they should not charge you for this service it takes litteraly a minute to do

Can you confirm at what mileage intervals these alerts appear? Cannot find in my car manuals.

Do a search for 'Oil Service Message' Fadig from Brazil came up with an unlikely set of instructions to clear this message. Other Forum members have confirmed this works. 11 GS Bali Blue

Garage failed to do the job correct as they only cleared one coded date not 2. So they are at fault and no charge should be made.  FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years
