any budding gardeners know what this is?

Its evergreen, approx 15ft tall, and blocks out next door quite nicely, so I want another, just have no idea what it is ?

It's a Pittosporum. Very common, very good.

Definitely a pittosporum, but it has been left to go a bit woody. Be careful about pruning because if you cut back beyond the greenery it won't grow back

Yep. Pittosporum. You can get really nice variegated ones too. Small black, dark red, pale yellow, or white flowers depending on variety, flowers which don't impress, until you catch the scent on a warm summer's evening. Use them down here as hedging sometimes so can be cut back - carefully.

Didn't expect this to be a useful thread but if it hasn't just gone and answered one of my own plant queries. We bought a house last year that has a wall of evergreen and we didn't know what it was. Now I do Smile

Thank you once again Freel2. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues
2019 DS. Terribly unreliable.
Sold DS for a 2021 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Fingers crossed....
Sold Outlander for a 2014 SD4 SE Tech because I’m mental
Now greatly regret selling the Outlander. MPG of the FL2 is atrocious and so are the fuel bills. Fun though 😎
Couldn’t afford the fuel bills so back to an older Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Significantly better than I remembered it to be…

I have no plans to remove it. Love it, plus it is about to come out in thousands of flowers. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues

Glad you got the answer and for future reference there is an app called plantnet. Take a photo of the flower or leaf and the app will identify it. Apparently it works Smile LR Freelander 2 2014 metropolis SD4 auto in Loire Blue.
