Ive got a panel one fitted on my I6, as for extra BHP who really know, as for sound its i little better that stock and its got a life time warranty but there are people out there who say never use them as the oil on it can mess up the MAF meter. I6 WITH GAS CONVERSION

I couldn't agree more, I fitted a K&N panel filter to a Td5 Defender I had a while ago, it made no difference to the performance whatsoever. It's supposed to improve performance by allowing it to freely pass more air by being more porous, this however could also allow it to pass more dust particles and increase internal wear in the engine.

I've got one on the bike. It increases air flow massively, but that was to support the ECU being switched to Race Map ( which the nice Italians preprogrammed to rid all that nasty emissions nonsence ) an extra fuel injection module and cat- less de - baffled pipes. It increases induction noise noticeably , not something you want in a car,. They are made of cotton, so you have to oil it, and you have to clean it with a solvent. If you do your own servicing , fine. If you don't , do you think your garage is going to wash, dry and oil it for you ? If they did with the service kit and labour you have just put an hours labour on the bill

Britpart have made a non oiled performance filter. Not bought one yet but I have swapped from K and N on my TD5 as it clogged my MAF. I have a oil free on there now much better.
