United Kingdom 2009 Freelander 2 TD4_e XS Manual Barolo Black
intermittent fan noise from ventilation system

Hi,

I'm getting intermittent fan noise from the ventilation system - a kind of whining a bit like the bearings were giving up. It's not bad and only comes on at certain speeds, but I find it quite irritating when it does. Garage have lubed it but seem reluctant to replace under warranty as it's still working and sometimes not making any bad sound when with them. They say to replace the motor, the whole dash has to come apart. I might have to get a quote for getting it done elsewhere.

Anyone had any similar issues / got any good advice?

Cheers. Landrover Freelander 2, 2.2TD4-E manual XS. New to me at 113k miles, after 1 careful owner.

It may be that your AC needs regassing- if the noise goes when you turn off the air con then a rega ss normally fixes it Tattoos - Why would you choose to look like the wall of a public toilet?
