A quick TR question ... when you select MUD & RUTS does this setting also enable the HDC.

Yes. Set mine today on a rutted lane near Horton in Ribblesdale (but flattish) but being manual car moves too fast so kept having to dip clutch. HDC not kicking in at slow speed on flat. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

My son does a lot of off road driving around farms for his job. When he had an FL2 he came to the conclusion that the best thing was just leave it in normal setting and let it sort itself out. He was never convinced that the off road settings were that helpful in real life, especially sand mode where it seems to go wild! He now has a Mitsibishi L200 and reckons that with diff lock and low range (and over the same farm tracks) it's generally better than the FL2 except on wet grass. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
