I saw on a tv restoration show the rear suspension spheres for a Rolls Royce come from Citroen with Citroen on them and then Rolls Royce box them put their logo on the box, youre paying around £500 for the box. |

When we out in China in 2013 we saw clones of most of the European makes. But you will find that the Chinese people with money will always buy the original. China has mastered the art of copying ( international copyright law doesn't apply! ) but they haven't yet managed quality or reliability. Give them time and you never know. Now at the point when I learn something new something old is lost out the other side !

Take a closer look at the TUV crash test photo near the beginning of the thread. They also tested Land Wind and it basically fell apart. These may look alike and be cheap but they are not safe!!

I think there might be bigger problems ahead. There was a big piece in the Financial Times today about the sharp turn down in the Chinese premium car market. I wonder what impact this will have on new models and future product development?

LR's problems in China would appear to have at least as much to do with reliability issues, yet again, as with the Chinese economy. Problems with the 9-speed box have led to an exposé in the media there and the authorities demanding a recall. This was hitting sales in China even before the latest downturn in the economy. And on top of that they're being investigated for anti-competitive behaviour.

Mmmmm, I know this is off topic but in relation to the china recall, I hope JLR & JLRA have got things under control as I've now read 3 reviews in as many days regarding issues about DS on test. One test had issues with Stop/start, climate control and reduced performance warnings. Another was complaining about the infotainment system and tyre noise being unacceptable, also a unfavourable mention regarding rear suspension and jittery ride aswell as electric steering issue. Another was complaining about the auto box not being able to decide on a gear. One test it came out on top but only just and basically said as a newcomer should have been better. MY15
