I've been in Tonsberg all this week on a training course and each day travelling to Horten from Tonsberg we passed the local Volvo/Renault(?)/ Ford/ Land Rover combo dealership and there was a demo F2 in Black parked outside. However parked at the back of the Active Cabin Hotel in Tonsberg, in a small shipyard area, each day was a Rimini Red F2. I didn't get close enough to see which spec, but it looked really nice. How can carbon have a footprint, it has no feet?

Just wasn't expecting to see ANY land Rovers, let a lone find the hotel was down the road from a dealership! I saw several RRS's and the MD of the training company has a D3 with full bling added in the Chrome pack. Many, mnay Landies on the roads too, and that did surprise me as I don't imagine Norwegians as being keep Land Rover owners......................... was expecting to see Volvos everywhere but infact I didn't see that many although one day we were taken 30ks from Tonsberg to Horten in an XC90 taxi! Not been in a XC90 before, or Volvo even!!...what was your thoughts as a tarmac passenger from ride, to interior fixtures and space...any good??? They do get a good write up, but does it REALLY compete against a D3??? |

It was "OK" but I would sooner have the D3, especially as the D5 engine and autobox of the XC90 seemed to be fighting each other and the engine sounded distinctly strained. This was a newish XC90 too not one with a million taxi miles on it. Wasn't impressed with the sitting of the satnav which was difficult to see but the audio was out of this world! It seemed to seat the 5 of us very easily but I would dispute Clarksons claims about the boot size with all the seats in use, I reckon the D3 must be almost the same size. The front passenger seat was very comfy! How can carbon have a footprint, it has no feet?

Thats good to hear, as I am biased towards Landy's anyway, they are so......British!!! Even if owned by Ford!!!! I'm afraid I'm suckered into being a badge snob, would not feel the same PRIDE with a RAV 4, X3 or an X-Trail on the drive , mind you an extra 10-15K in the bank would have been nice...then I think of our Scouser friends up at Halewood and sod it........forget the money, keep our British guys and girls employed, not to mention its a damned good car anyway |

I would not compare D3 and XC90. XC90 is only sport-universal car. |

Hello Tim In Scotland from Tim in Norway. So you have driven from Tønsberg to Horten? (You work with Nicator?) That is close to where I live. Used to work in Tønsberg. Got lots of cousins in Horten. Test-drove the FL2 at the dealership you are describing, but bought it at an other dealership. A dealership solely dealing with Land Rovers. Anyway, Land Rovers of all kind are very common here in Norway. Range Rover is definitely the most common one, and you see them all over. But also the others. My old neighbour traded in her Volvo XC90 for a Range Rover. So dont be so surprised....... ![]() |

Viking I was at Tonsberg care of a copy called Maris who make and sell Electronic Chart Display and Information Systems for ships, in Horten I was doing a training course at a company called Seagull AS who specialise in computer based training systems for seafarers.
