Constant sales calls..

What's going on??
in the last 4 days I have had a total of 12 sales calls from Marshalls of Lincoln on 08437130381 .

On Monday it was 5 calls, yesterday 4 calls and already 2 this morning.. The conversation goes like this

Hello Mr Jaxxx.. it's Marshalls of Lincoln here how are you today??
Fine thanks.. I've told your collogues I'm not thinking of changing my Freelander... So I'm not interested..
But you dont know what this call is about...
Unless you're going to say I've won a brand new car then I'm not interested... is this call about that??
well..errrrr.. no
Then I'm not interested..

What's the deal with all these constant calls and 6 emails I've had over the past week???

I suppose it goes back to the old adage that "people don't queue up to buy cars" and, rather than sit on his back side and drink coffee, he's on the phone to drum up some business. I'm impressed though, so many dealers seem to find it hard enough to respond properly to an enquiry, let along go out of their way looking for business!

The dealership could probably use a better CRM system to stop you from being called a far too often and with no intersting reason though.

I had two LR dealers, a Jaguar dealer, a Skoda dealer, a Volvo dealer and direct calls from Subaru UK chasing me up for 4 or 6 weeks when I started looking for a new car to replace my company motor. I can't complain, I had given them all my number on showroom visits. They were all perfectly polite and no one was too pushy, although I did get 3 calls in two hours from Jag telling me that they had one of the new F Paces coming into the Bradford Showroom .

So I suppose the moral is if you don't want the calls give them a fake mobile number Whistle 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

i had them from Vauxhall dealership about the wifes car,

what if we could put you in a brand new corsa for the same monthly premium your paying now?

that sounds great, is it the old shape or the new shape thats about to be released?

Its the older shape... we have stock waiting to be registered

Oh.. thats not too bad though, its newer and less miles..

When would you like to swap car... but before that why are you giving her a car?

we are not giving her a car, we can do it for the same monthly premium

But she doesn't have a monthly premium to pay, the cars paid for.... so when can we collect?

Errr our records show she paid xyz a month, of 5 years interest free, we could do that again

Oh, so you want her to have a new car, and pay for it for 5 years, at xyz, thats not the same monthly payment she has now as you first offered.....

Please remove me off the sales call list, thanks you Laughing Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I get bombarded by similar calls from our local Seat Dealer, where I bought SWMBO's car from 2 years ago.

Similar patter, 'we can put her in a new car for what our paying now', so I go through the figures with them, and prove that no they cant put her into a new car for what we are paying now. To be fair, they are polite, can laugh off what I prove to them.

I always give my mobile number to any retail organisation as its easier to manage/ignore their calls as they tend not to leave voicemails for sales calls. Updated- Waiting for a Scotland v England 6 Nations home win. 24th Feb 2018

A friend of mine was rung up about a conservatory and he went along with the call saying yes he really would like a conservatory etc. He came to giving his address which was in a block of flats the guy said "this is on the ground floor isn't it?" answer "no I am on the third floor but I really would like a conservatory". End of call. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
