Saw a program called outback truckers the other night and they all seem to hate caravanners.

The trucker is driving along a road and catching up with someone towing a caravan, traffic coming the other way stops him from overtaking so he has to slam on his brakes to prevent an accident and they tell you this is dangerous because the truck could jack knife and it takes several hundred yds to slow down when you have a 20 ton load.
For some reason this dangerous situation is caused by the inconsiderate caravanner by driving 10 mph slower than him.

In another one a caravanner and a car had pulled off the road because a wide load was coming the other way, a trucker that was at least half a mile behind these when they pulled over had to swerve past them after having his nearside wheels off the road as the wide load passed because he couldn't slow down in time and this was also the fault of the caravanner. Mine, Saab convertible

Australia is way behind in truck speed tracking & a lot of them drive way too fast & log time of hours driving can be manipulated. The police did a random speed check recently & found a fair number of trucks had modified their speed limiters. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!

2 main roads near me on the Northern Beaches. Let alone the rest of the country. This is the result of heavy transport cost cutting & corruption in Australia! Pleanty more of where these come from. Trucks need to fix up their game & keep their truck roadworthy before they start having a go at others. Procrastination, mankind's greatest labour saving device!
